You have the right to be treated fairly.
Apna Haq has an Equal Opportunity Policy which states that we are committed to actively putting this into practice.
You have the right to complain.
If you feel that you have been treated unfairly, or are unhappy with the service from Apna Haq, we feel it is important that you are able to make a complaint. Your complaint will be treated with fairness. Complaints will be investigated fully and quickly.
There is a complaint procedure in Apna Haq, a copy of which will be given to you.
You have the right to confidentiality.
We do not share personal information about you with others. We will respect your confidentiality in that we will only discuss your personal details with other professionals who are working with you, unless we are required by law to do so.
You have the right to be involved in decisions about your life.
Our aim is to work with you on any problems you may have and to maximize the choices available to you. You will work with a key worker and other staff in identifying goals and agreeing a care plan and we will take your opinions seriously.
You have the right to see your records.
Your key worker will keep some records so that you can jointly review your progress and plan for the future. You have a right to see any records written by the staff of Apna Haq and we encourage you to have access.
Entitlement to benefits.
Our aim is to maximize the benefits you are entitled to and to ensure that you have access to your benefits as quickly as possible.
Women's and Children's Rights with the Apna Haq project
- All women and children who come into contact with the project have the right
to feel welcome throughout their contact with the project.
- All women and children in contact with the project have the right to information.
- All women and children with the project have the right to support.
- All women and children in contact with the project have the right to have
access space in which they can feel comfortable within which they can express
their feelings and experiences.
- Safety from discrimination on grounds of race, class, gender, ability, religion,
sexual orientation is part of our policy.
- Once a client contacts the Apna Haq Project, confidentiality is of the utmost
importance. We will not disclose any personal information about you with other
clients or agencies, unless we are required to do so by law, i.e. in cases
of child protection. We will discuss with you why there is a need to share
information, with whom, and what the consequences are. We will disclose information
which has been agreed by you.
- Staff will treat all personal information about clients with the utmost
confidentiality. We work as a team and to give you as much help as possible,
it is important for staff to share information amongst themselves. Therefore,
please do not ask a worker to keep information from the other workers since
it puts them in a difficult position.
- You will be given a copy of the Apna Haq confidentiality policy.
- All women and children have a right to see their records.
- All women and children have the right to complain if they are not happy
with the service they receive.
